School assessment results
We are very proud of the efforts and achievements of all of our children and especially of the Year 2 and Year 6 children who all worked hard in preparation for the Statutory Assessment Tests (SATs), planned for May. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, and the National Lockdown, this year's Tests were cancelled. The children were disappointed that they did not get the chance to reap the rewards of all their hard work.
Fortunately, Year 6 had taken a number of practise papers in reading, maths and grammar, punctuation and spelling. These were all taken in school (and in test conditions). The following results are based on those tests.
While the other areas are assessed by a standardised test, achievement in Writing is determined by Teacher Assessment by judging if each child has completely mastered all the criteria for Year 6. We were determined to apply this criteria extremely rigorously as we always have high expectations of our children. We are very pleased that 73% of our children were able to demonstrate that they could confidently and consistently apply these skills in their writing. Ensuring that more children are able to achieve 'Greater Depth' is obviously an area for us to focus on next year.
