School Results 2019
Once again, we are very proud of the efforts and achievements of all of our children and especially of the Year 2 and Year 6 children who all did their very best in their Statutory Assessment Tests (SATs). You will recall that there was much in the local and national press about how difficult this year’s tests were going to be and, indeed, how children had to achieve higher marks to achieve an ‘expected’ result.
While the other areas are assessed by a standardised test, achievement in Writing is determined by Teacher Assessment by judging if each child has completely mastered all the criteria for Y6. We were determined to apply this criteria extremely rigorously as we always have high expectations of our children. We are very pleased that 70% of our children were able to demonstrate that they could confidently and consistently apply these skills in their writing. Ensuring that more children are able to achieve Greater Depth is obviously an area for us to focus on next year.
