The value of volunteers in school is well recognised and we are constantly grateful to everyone who helps us out on a voluntary basis,  for whatever reason:  from volunteer drivers for sporting events to parents who accompany classes on walks around the village – we would find it difficult for these activities to go ahead without a little help from our volunteers.    Please be in touch with us if you would like more details about coming into school on a voluntary basis.

For an enthusiastic and fun approach to helping in school, you might like to join-up with our very active PTA who organise lots of events across the school year.  They raise plenty of money to help support our school, and at the same time bring families together for events such as sponsored walks, Easter Egg Hunts and Non-Uniform Days.

Our governors are part of one of the largest volunteer forces in the country and have an important role to play in demonstrating effective leadership and management.  Almost anyone over 18 years of age can become a governor. There are no particular qualifications or requirements, other than a willingness to give time to the role and a capacity for working with other people.   We currently have two vacancies on our Governing Body, so if this is something of interest to you, please be in touch with either Melanie Smallwood (Headteacher) or Mrs French (Chair of Governors) via the school to find out a little bit more about what this involves.
