Home Learning Nursery and Reception task:
Please take the half term to enjoy your time together!
Go out in the sunshine, share stories, and have fun! After our half term we will be moving on to looking at our new topic of ‘The Sea’ – if there are any questions your children have about this topic, something they would love to learn about or anything that they are particularly interested in please do pass this on to us so that we can adapt our planning to meet the interests of your child.
NEW DUE DATE = Monday 12th June 2023
Reading challenge…
To celebrate and encourage reading of different texts, we are holding a sponsored read to raise money to purchase some up to date newly released children’s books for each class. These will be books that the children can choose to read themselves either in school or to bring home to read. Your child will bring home a reading challenge and sponsor form before the half term holiday. There will be 3 weeks to complete the challenge before sponsor forms are collected in on Monday 12th June. The teachers will talk to the children about this.
Project 1 – ongoing (EXTENDED)
This is an ongoing task which will last until the week before half term.
Plant some flower seeds of your choice (I have some here if needed, as well as pots)
I would like you to document the process of the planting and growing by drawing pictures and labelling each time you do something e.g. a picture of you planting the seeds, a picture of you watering them.
This needs to continue and you can then draw pictures of the actual flower growing. Sheet provided to record each image.
Project 2 – ongoing (EXTENDED)
A making activity. – We are learning about famous people and what made them famous/significant. I would like you to invent something new.
Perhaps a new gadget for the home to keep the family entertained, or something that would help someone or solve a problem. Draw and label your design; have a go at making it using things from the recycling box.
